Government Worker Salaries and Benefits More Than Half of the Cost of Government

That's why we need a president who knows how to run a country like a business -- instead of a lawyer who knows only how to get everything they can get only for their own client(s) which are the government workers themselves. no matter what the consequences and implications are for the country as a whole.

The reason there is no money for the schools and other government services, is because after paying off the government workers increasingly more for less productivity, there's no money "left over," to actually hold classes, and do anything government was originally created to do -- and not just to create a permanently entitled class of union members.

We just wish that the media would be on the side of the people, instead of seeing it as "their job," to re-elect the present lawyer as president, and defend the union brotherhood with their "solidarity" -- thinking that if one union gets more than everybody else, they will be next in line to get more than everybody else.

That is what has made Hawaii what it is today.

I don't know how closely you've been keeping track of the Presidential race but to make this short Mitt says that the (Hard) working Middle class person makes $200,000-$250,000 a year that knocks out 75-80% of Hawaii I'm not talking about winter birds I'm talking about the average person that lives here all year round I got nothing against anybody making the Big Bucks but by those numbers Mitt has no idea what the average person makes here or in most of the U.S !!!!!!!!!!!

As a rule of thumb, the household median income is about $50,000, which is usually more than a single person.

Thus the single median income is roughly half that, or $25,000. "Poverty" is classed at around half the median income, or around $12,000 -- and under. That's the figure Social Security allows one to earn without deduction from one's Social Security benefits if one is under 65.

There's a lot of distortion in the usual government workers union discussion of their compensation, so that the teachers beginning with salaries at $35,000 plus benefits that double their salary (actual cost to taxpayers), claim that they are being paid poverty wages, and actually believe their own propaganda.

And those beginning wages, double for those at the top of the seniority for top compensation of around $100,000+, and usually the only person who would marry a teacher is another teacher, and so one is up to the $200,000 level of total compensation -- of people living the same "middle class" existence they are accustomed to.

But the middle class can range from median income up to around that level of $200-250k a year, if their values and consumption don't change, and they live the same lifestyle they began with -- as is frequently the case in Hawaii. They're not poor, and they're not rich -- which is the middle class existence.
